Do your paper straws hold up in drinks?
Yes, our paper straws are designed to last at least 2 to 3 hours in cold drinks without softening or falling apart. The cardboard used is treated to resist moisture while remaining biodegradable. For hot drinks, we recommend using the spout lid of our 8 oz cups rather than a straw. The Bubble Tea straw (Ø12 mm) is wide enough to let tapioca pearls through.
What is the difference between 6 mm and 8 mm straws?
The 6 mm diameter is the standard for classic drinks: sodas, juices, iced coffees, light cocktails. The 8 mm diameter is wider, suited to smoothies, milkshakes and pulpy drinks. For the Bubble Tea, the 12 mm diameter is essential to draw up the tapioca pearls. All our straws are black and made of biodegradable cardboard compliant with the European SUP directive.
