What is the difference between a positive and a negative refrigerated cabinet?
A positive refrigerated cabinet maintains temperatures between +2°C and +8°C for storing fresh products (meat, fish, vegetables, dairy). A negative refrigerated cabinet operates between -18°C and -22°C for freezing and storing frozen goods. At GL Distribution, both types are available in 600L (compact) and 1200L (large capacity), all in AISI 304 stainless steel.
What is the difference between a refrigerated counter and a saladette?
Both are refrigerated workstations. A refrigerated counter features doors or drawers underneath for storage, with a smooth worktop above. A saladette includes integrated Gastronorm pans on top (with lid) for quick assembly. Our F&G counters are available in 2–4 door and 4–6 drawer formats, and our saladettes in GN 1/3 and GN 1/4 formats.
What refrigerated cabinet capacity does my restaurant need?
Allow approximately 10 to 15 liters per daily cover served. For a 40-cover restaurant: our 600L cabinet is suitable. For 80+ covers, collective kitchens, or caterers: the 1200L cabinet, possibly complemented by a refrigerated counter. Contact us for personalized advice.
Why is R290 gas preferable to R404a?
R290 gas (propane) has an almost negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP of 3), compared to 3,922 for R404a. It is the refrigerant recommended under new European F-Gas regulations. It is also more energy-efficient, reducing the electricity consumption of your cabinets. Our entire F&G range operates on R290 or R600a.
